Solution Quartz Crystals Updated March 15, 2019 11:00 AM Eastern You are on the JEFFREY QUARRY SOLUTION QUARTZ page. |
Helpful navigation tips for our site: REFRESH: We update frequently so be sure to refresh your browser to see any changes. TIME STAMP: On the upper left there is usually a date and time showing when the page was created or updated. CHECK BOTTOM OF PAGE: If you see a recent date, that indicates something new is on the page and often it will be added to the BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. (that's because it is much easier to simply add it to the bottom as compared to moving dozens of photos and text boxes to make room at the top of a page). ENLARGE PHOTOS: Almost all photos will expand when you click on them. Those that have a plus sign when you hover your cursor over the photo can be enlarged even further. YELLOW LINKS: Links are almost always in YELLOW unless I just happen to miss doing that. Otherwise they will be the standard blue color. SITE MAP: It's your friend! I've been adding pages to this site for years and it has become a monster. But, it is a manageable monster. It's easy to get lost and confused and the site map will likely help you find your way back home. Look for site map links on the upper right of most pages. I've also added it to most navigation bars as well as the 'go to' drop-down menu. "GO TO": Almost every page has a 'go to' drop down menu with a link to home, the site map, and most of my other presences on the web such as ebay, flickr, twitter, zazzle, etc. |
Solution Quartz was found at the Jeffrey Quarry in Pulaski County, Arkansas. Solution Quartz has a unique crystal habit, especially in regards to the terminations. The crystal shown above and immediately below is atypical because it is very large for the locality (relatively speaking) and has a combination termination that is part regular and part solution quartz habit. Lower down on this page will be other examples of Solution Quartz from Jeffrey's Quarry. |
Click any photo to enlarge. A "+" symbol indicates that it will enlarge a second time. |
I will be adding new photos soon. Arkansas has many different types of minerals and crystals. Use the navigation buttons at the top of the page to check out some of the other types of minerals that occur in Arkansas. I will be adding a wavellite page eventually. |
We do have nice solution quartz crystals for sale at our rock shop in McDonough, Georgia ( see banner below right) and we also have them for sale in our ebay store (use drop-down menu above right at top of page to find it). |
Below is a crystal from Jeffrey's Quarry that has a normal termination but has a crystal penetrating it. This is informally called a "Penetrator Crystal". It also has a crystal completely inside along with cookeite inclusions. Those are informally called "Manifestations" in some circles. I have this crystal #10167 currently listed for sale on eBay. You can use the drop-down menu at the upper right of this page for my eBay store link. If you don't see it listed in my store then that means it has already sold. |
